I want to give a special "Thank YOU" to all of the hard work and planning that went into the Meet the Wildcats night on Friday. It was truly a special event and it was really nice to see the recognition of our winning teams by adding some banners to the building! The evening was an overwhelming success and I wanted to personally thank everyone that made it special for our students, parents, and fans of Wildcat sports.

Once again, our great students answered the call to raise funds for our veterans by participating in the Jeans for Troops fundraiser at school on Wednesday. Students and staff were asked to make a small donation and wear jeans and a Galva/Mid County shirt to participate. Currently, it looks like Principal Becker will be personally donating over $160 to match the 160 outstanding students that made the pledge to participate. The pictures below are only a small portion of the staff and student body that made this day a huge success. I have extended our competition fundraiser to Friday. The winning grade will be announced on Friday with the winning amount and pizza party prize...stay tuned!
I want to personally thank all of the students from Galva Elementary and the Jr/Sr High School for showing the respect and honor our veterans deserve with an outstanding assembly on November 10th. The student body made me proud to be their Principal and our veterans had nothing but compliments for our kids.
Special thanks to SSG Hopson for an inspiring speech, MSG Fabish and the Pekin Community High School JROTC for another stellar performance, and Mersman (Michelle) Memories for your support and ability to capture a moment in pictures. Reminder to all students: Tomorrow is Jeans for Troops Day in support of our country's veterans. All students are asked to wear jeans and a Galva/Mid County t-shirt to school tomorrow. Mr. Becker will personally donate $1 for every student that shows their support. Also, any amount you can donate to our total would be greatly appreciated. There will be a class contest to see who can raise the most money. The winning class will receive a pizza party in the student lounge. Last year we raised over $400.00. Thank you all for a very respectful and solemn assembly yesterday to honor our veterans. You all made me very proud to be a veteran and your principal. Go Wildcats! A special thanks to all the great citizens of Galva for spending the evening with us at McDonalds and supporting our schools through your kindness last night. Willie thanks you as well!!
